4x200m Relay Squad become All - American

The Marauder’s track and field team had some strong performances to end their indoor season at the New Balance Indoor Track and Field Nationals held at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York, N.Y.

The highest finish came from the 4x200m relay squad of Richie Luzzi-Liggins, Gus Nations IV, Ayir Asante and Joey Morrone. They finished sixth overall in 1:29.76, after running a season’s best 1:29.26 in the prelims, to earn All-American honors

Luzzi-Liggins started things off by breaking the stagger to put us in striking position with Nations IV then receiving the baton and running a strong second led to keep us in the mix. After a botched handoff from other teams, Asante had us in second position coming into the final leg and Morrone then brought the baton home for the marauders, finishing second in the heat and sixth overall.

This is the second prep 4x200m relay team to become All-American in 2 years

HS Career Stats:

  • 1,265 Receiving yards

  • 83 Catches

  • 16 Touchdowns

  • 15.2 Yards per catch

  • 1,733 All purpose yards
